Walking Tour
See Lough Erne Resort through a whole new lens as you take this walk through the heritage of this truly stunning landscape. This guided walk by activity specialists Blue Green Yonder features fascinating stories of the history of the area, the biodiversity, flora and fauna and all kinds of natural knowledge that has been designed to give you a whole new understanding of this beautiful peninsula and the Lower Lough Erne landscape.
You will be exploring a time before the dinosaurs walked the earth, when the bedrock of Fermanagh sat approximately where the South Pole is today right up through to the crucial role Lough Erne played during World War II to the present day and this amazing, beautiful and eternally changing landscape.
Learn about the plants and trees of the Lower Lough, from tiny edible flowers underfoot to the great ancient broadleaves that dominate the island skyline.
And of course, somewhere with such biodiversity gives us an excellent chance of encountering a good variety of wildlife and discovering the ever-changing tracks of our nocturnal furry friends.
We recommend you dress for the weather. You will need flat, comfortable shoes.
Please Note; This heritage walk activity is operated in conjunction with Blue Green Yonder and is exclusively available to hotel and lodge residents of Lough Erne Resort only. Full details of a meeting point at Lough Erne Resort will be provided to you upon booking.
